Why Join RISHP?

  • We are the only professional pharmacy society catering specifically to you– pharmacists and technicians working in hospitals and health systems.
  • We are the official state affiliate of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP). We bring ASHP to you on the local level.
  • Our ACPE accredited continuing education programs are created for YOUR needs and interests: 10 CEs provided at various events.
  • RISHP.org is our new and improved website that serves as an updated source of information and resources. RISHP is on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to keep you in the loop for social events and CE programming and any and all pharmacy news/updates.
  • Keep your finger on the pulse of pharmacy in Rhode Island! The RISHP newsletter provides drug information updates, regulatory affairs and pharmacy practice issues related to the Society.
  • We represent our members in the local and federal government! Our legislative efforts include pharmacist provider status bills, expanding the collaborative practice act, and advocating for a reduction in licensing fees.
  • Networking opportunities and professional enrichment: Did you see our sunset cruise in Newport? Or our night out at the Paw Sox? We like to have some fun too!
  • We recognize pharmacy excellence in our state! Awards and scholarships are presented annually at our popular installation gala, to pharmacists, technicians and students in health-system pharmacy.
