Objectives: 

Describe the physiology of malignant hyperthermia including the role of genetic abnormalities and medication triggers

Identify the signs and symptoms of a patient presenting with malignant hyperthermia 

Recall the variable time until clinical presentation after exposure to trigger medications and the potential for recrudescence after an initial episode  

Describe appropriate medication and supportive management of malignant hyperthermia 

Define the appropriate preparation and storage of dantrolene, as well as the need for ensuring an adequate supply on hand 

Select and contrast diabetes mellitus types 1 and 2

Identify complications associated with uncontrolled diabetes

Describe the role of each class of diabetes medication

Outline the signs/symptoms, prevention, and treatment of hypoglycemia

Identify common inhaler products

Describe available combination products

Reproduce appropriate inhaler techniques

Name important counseling points regarding inhaler therapy

Describe and relate to the signs and symptoms of adults with ADHD 

Recall screening and diagnostic tools for adults with ADHD 
Name the common treatments for adults with ADHD
