At the completion of this activity, pharmacists will be able to:

1. Identify opportunities for GDMT implementation during a hospital admission

2. Define available patient education opportunity for discharge available for pharmacists and APPE Students

3. Describe recommendations for RSV vaccination and monoclonal antibody therapy in select high risk populations (including older adults, pregnant people, newborns)

4. Describe the prevalence and opportunity for incorporating PGx into clinical care

5. Explain the role pharmacists play in utilization of PGx in practice

6. Describe a pharmacist-physician led collaborative model for hepatitis C treatment in primary care

7. Summarize key findings from 2-year progress report post-implementation of hep C clinical program in a primary care setting

8. Describe the DEI status of the healthcare workforce in the USA

9. Discuss sustainable strategies to make DEI more than a checked box and a reality

At the completion of this activity, Pharmacy technicians will be able to:

At the completion of this activity, the pharmacists and Pharmacy technicians will be able to:

1. Describe 2 policies that were approved at the 2023 House of Delegates meeting

2. Describe 1 new business item that was approved at the 2023 House of Delegates meeting

3. Describe the bills that were passed in the 2023 RI Legislative Session

4. Explain the impact these bills will have on pharmacy practice in Rhode Island

5. Describe the role of the Council on Therapeutics and ASHP professional policies related to medication therapy


The University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.  This knowledge-based educational activity provides up to 3.25 live contact hour (0.325 ceus) (including 1.0 hour law) to participants who meet the requirements for CE. Partial credit is available.

PROGRAM EVALUATION

All participants will have the opportunity to evaluate the educational session and speaker and to identify future educational needs.

REQUIREMENTS FOR CE CREDIT

A program evaluation must be completed at www.uripharmacycpd.org within 60 days of the live program date (11/4/2023) in order to receive CE credit.  CE credit will be transferred to the CPE Monitor upon successful completion of the program evaluation. Transfer of CE credit should be verified at mycpemonitor.net where CE statements are available to print. Please refer to the evaluation instructions that follow for completing program evaluations and reporting CE credit.
